Unshakeable Loyalty: Beloved Dog's Touching Goodbye to Grieving Owner, Offering Comfort and Endless Love
Dog visits dying owner in hospital to say the final goodbye
The ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ moment a devoted dog said a ꜰɪɴᴀʟ goodbye to her ᴅʏɪɴɢ owner. Last month Ryan Jessen, from California, thought he had a ᴍɪɢʀᴀɪɴᴇ but was ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟɪᴢᴇᴅ with a ᴠᴇɴᴛʀɪᴄᴜʟᴀʀ ʙʀᴀɪɴ ʜᴇᴍᴏʀʀʜᴀɢᴇ and did ɴᴏᴛ recover.
33-year-old Ryan Jessen sᴜᴅᴅᴇɴʟʏ ᴘᴀssᴇᴅ ᴀᴡᴀʏ from ʙʀᴀɪɴ ʜᴇᴍᴏʀʀʜᴀɢᴇ, ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ staff showed a very unexpected gesture. His loved ones gathered in his ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ room to say their ꜰɪɴᴀʟ ɢᴏᴏᴅʙʏᴇs to him on November 30. The emotional moment was captured on video and has since been shared on Facebook where it has so far touched the ʜᴇᴀʀᴛs of hundreds thousands of people.
Ryan’s sister Michelle wrote on her Facebook page. She wrote :” The ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ did the sweetest thing for us and allowed us to bring my brother’s dog in to ‘say goodbye’ so she’d know why her human ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ came home. If you knew my brother, he really loved his sweet dog.” Tail between her legs and ears pinned down an upset looking Mollie is seen ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇʟʏ sniffing her ᴅʏɪɴɢ owner when she is lifted onto his ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ bed. The video has since been viewed more than eight million times and has been shared more than 80,000 times.
The Facebook post has been flooded with an outpouring of support from well-wishers. Michelle Jessen wrote:” THANK YOU to everybody for the outpouring of support, but I won’t be responding anymore. We are sincerely touched and humbled by others’ stories, their sharing in our sᴀᴅɴᴇss and the kindness of so many people. Don’t ᴡᴏʀʀʏ about the dog! We’re keeping her!!! She’s part of the family.”
A photo of Mollie was later shared by Ryan’s mother showing the dog lying on a couch. “Mollie will miss her doggy daddy. My family were ‘grateful’ for all the support we had received. We release him, with gratitude, to give the gift of life through the ᴏʀɢᴀɴ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ program to waiting recipients. We have personally, and prayerfully, received much support, for which we are gratefully indebted to each and every kindness. It happened so quickly.” his mother Laurie Ann Hickenlooper Jessen wrote.
Jessen added that ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs think her brother’s ʙʀᴀɪɴ ʜᴇᴍᴏʀʀʜᴀɢᴇ was brought on by ʜɪɢʜ ʙʟᴏᴏᴅ ᴘʀᴇssᴜʀᴇ, with sᴘᴇᴄᴜʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴ that his ‘frequent consumption of ᴇɴᴇʀɢʏ ᴅʀɪɴᴋs’ may have contributed. His ᴏʀɢᴀɴs were ᴅᴏɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ and his sister ɴᴏᴛed on December 1 that a 17-year-old from California, whose birthday is on Christmas day, received her brother’s ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ. She wrote:”
As sᴀᴅ as it is to ʟᴏsᴇ Ryan, we know his ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ is going to bring so much joy to the family of the recipient. I wish Ryan could know what a difference his ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ will make for that young man.”
