Rasmus Hojlund Receives Warm Welcome from Man United Fans at Old Trafford Debut

Manchester United have officially introduced Rasmus Hojlund to the public at Old Trafford.

At halftime of their final preseason friendly against Lens at Old Trafford, the Danish international was greeted enthusiastically by the crowd of tens of thousands.

The 20-year-old cost the club £64 million up front with an additional £8 million in add-ons, and he joins Mason Mount and Andre Onana as part of a $175 million spending binge as Erik ten Hag tries to build on an improving season.

Hojlund, who spent just one season on loan with Italian club Atalanta, will take over as United’s starting striker following Wout Weghorst’s disappointing performance.

After leaving his childhood team Copenhagen for Sturm Graz, where he scored 12 goals in 21 games, Hojlund scored 10 goals in 34 total appearances for his new club.

After six games with Denmark, he has scored six goals, enough for a goal-scoring average of a goal every four games.

By finishing third in the Premier League, Mason Greenwood and the rest of the Red Devils are back in the Champions League.
