Liverpool FC Announces New Leadership: Trent as Vice Captain, Virgil van Dijk as Captain.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named the new vice captain and Virgil van Dijk has been named the new captain of Liverpool FC.

Van Dijk is the 21st player to wear the Liverpool captain’s armband consistently since the team’s inception in 1959.

According to Van Dijk, it’s “a really proud day for me, for my wife, for my kids, for my family,” on the website.

I’ve experienced an exceptional feeling that I’m having trouble putting into words at the moment. But it’s something I’m really proud of.

It was already a big honor and a source of great pleasure for me to be named captain of Holland. I also struggle to describe what it’s like to lead Liverpool Football Club.

I’m quite proud of it, and I want to use that pride to make the supporters of my football team and I happy.

Every player has a special way of leadership that makes them the ideal contender for the prestigious position of club captain.

Liverpool has witnessed it all over the years. Every captain leads in their own special style, whether via actions or words.

After Steven Gerrard stepped down as captain in 2015, Henderson was a strong captain who held the position for 268 games before being replaced.

After James Milner and Henderson, Van Dijk was in line to be captain, but he has since been elevated to the top position. As captain, he has made 43 starts.

The Dutchman may now be counted among a select group of athletes who have served as club captains.

He joins Alan Hansen, Phil Thompson, and Emlyn Hughes as another center defender to don the captain’s armband.

Due to the importance he brings to both Liverpool and the Netherlands, Van Dijk is now both a club leader for the Reds and a national leader for his country.

The 32-year-old should expect mostly business as usual, even if he will have extra obligations for the 2017 season and beyond.
