Gary Lineker slams ‘bad day for VAR’ when Mac Allister receives a ‘nonsense’ red card as fans slam Szoboszlai’s ‘dive’
GARY LINEKER has slammed the officials after Alexis MacAllister was sent off against Bournemouth.

Despite viewers’ claims that the midfielder had dived, Liverpool were awarded a penalty kick.
Referee Thomas Brammall sent out Mac Allister on his Anfield debut for a challenge on Ryan Christie.
Lineker responded to the event by tweeting, “Mac Allister sees red, but it’s nonsense.” The referee and VAR at Anfield are having a bad day.”
During the first half, the hosts were awarded a penalty, which led to his ejection.
Joe Rothwell received a penalty for colliding with Szoboszlai inside the area.
“How did Liverpool get a penalty for this?” one supporter enquired after replays revealed minimal contact. It’s certainly a dive rather than a foul.”
“Yes, that should not have been a penalty to Liverpool after a very obvious dive by Dominik Szoboszlai,” said another.
The subsequent penalty attempt was saved by Neto, but Mohamed Salah scored the rebound to put Liverpool ahead.
After Antoine Semenyo put the Cherries ahead in the third minute, his goal sealed a comeback.
Luis Diaz scored an acrobatic equalizer before Salah sealed the comeback.
Jurgen Klopp’s team won 3-1 thanks to Diogo Jota’s goal just minutes after Mac Allister was sent off.
