Who Is Kevin De Bruyne’s Wife? All About Michèle De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City has been married to his wife Michèle since 2014.

Kevin De Bruyne has an impressive resume for a soccer player.

The midfielder joined Manchester City in 2015 and has since won two Premier League Player of the Year awards and five Premier League titles with the club.

The player began his professional career in Belgium, with Genk, before transferring to England to play for Chelsea in the Premier League. In 2014, he traveled to Germany to play for Wolfsburg, where he met his future wife, Michèle.

After dating for three years, Kevin and Michèle finally tied the knot in 2017. They now have two kids and a daughter.

Kevin praised his wife in a 2019 interview with The Players’ Tribune, saying, “She changed my life in so many ways.” I have no idea how I would survive without her.

Who exactly is Michèle De Bruyne, the “most important person” in his life, according to him? Read on to learn all there is to know about Kevin De Bruyne’s wife and their married life.

Kevin and she first connected on Twitter in 2014.

In 2014, Kevin began dating Michèle (formerly Lacroix). Kevin told The Players’ Tribune that he and his wife first connected on Twitter.

A tweet was the initial spark. Since I was still on loan at Werder Bremen, my fan base was relatively small. Okay, so I tweeted about a game or something, and this hottie liked it. My friend took note of the fact that I was now single. Therefore, he asked, “Doesn’t she seem like a nice girl?” You need to contact her.

Kevin, the soccer player, said he “didn’t even have the heart to slide into my future wife’s DMs,” so his friend typed up a message and sent it on his instead.

“Thank God, he messaged her for me, and she answered,” the midfielder continued. We spent a few months getting to know each other through text messages. After establishing some rapport, everything went smoothly for me. It was a piece of great beauty.

They tied the knot in 2017.

The Belgian soccer player proposed to Michèle at the Eiffel Tower in Paris in December 2016, and the two were married on June 26, 2017 in Sorrento, Italy.

Michèle posted a photo of the newlyweds kissing to Instagram with the simple comment “26.06.2017,” and Kevin did the same, writing, “So proud I can call you my wife now!”

Kevin wrote a heartfelt anniversary message to Michèle in 2018, calling her his “partner in crime” and praising their first year of marriage as “amazing” with “many more to come.” In 2023, while the couple was celebrating six years of marriage, he did the same thing.

He wished his Instagram-following wife, “the best mother to our 3 kids,” on their sixth wedding anniversary.

She and Kevin are the proud parents of three

They’ve raised a brood of three kids as a couple. During the 2015 transfer window, Kevin and Michèle learned out she was pregnant with their first child, which Kevin later described as a “extremely stressful time” for the family.

Mason Milian, their firstborn, arrived in March 2016, and they welcomed Rome, their second son, in October 2018. Suri was Michèle and Kevin’s third child and first girl, and she was born in September of 2020.

Kevin wished Michèle a happy birthday on Instagram by calling her the “best mommy” on her 29th.

She cheers on her hubby as he plays soccer.

Kevin has won five Premier League titles with Manchester City since he joined the team in 2015. Michèle, her husband, and their kid posed with the Premier League trophy they won in 2018 for an Instagram post.

She’s always there for him, even while he’s away on foreign assignment. After Belgium was eliminated from the 2018 World Cup by France, she and her husband and kid posted an Instagram photo of themselves with the colors of the Belgian flag painted on their faces.

Kevin won the Premier League title for the seventh time in June of 2023.

Michèle posted a photo of herself hugging her husband on the field and the caption, “No words.”

She is a podcast co-host.

For the Secret Society podcast—which bills itself on Instagram as “Your dose of girl talk”—Michèle is one of the hosts.

The hosts of this Dutch podcast have conversations with a wide range of well-known Dutch and Belgian artists and entertainers. The podcast’s Spotify profile claims that actress Lize Feryn, DJ/model Luna Stevens, and photographer Marie Wynants have all been on it as guests.

Together with her husband, she volunteers for several causes.

The midfielder for Manchester City and his wife are both very giving people. According to Bleacher Report, Kevin volunteers with the children’s charity Rays of Sunshine. His club also mentioned that he assisted with CV fundraising efforts.

As part of Roc Nation Sports’ “Kicks for Kids” initiative in December 2019, Michèle shared photos of her and her husband visiting hospitalized children in Manchester. Thank you for the kind greeting, it was great to see smiles on these kids’ faces,” she remarked next to the pictures.

She and Kevin made an ad for McDonald’s in Belgium.

The pair posted their McDonald’s commercial to Instagram in March of 2023. The video shows Michèle and Kevin making their fast food selection in the drive-thru. When they see a worker “waving” at them, they assume that they are being treated like a celebrity. The staffer was probably simply attempting to keep the line going when another car blocked them off. The screen reads, “Sorry, Kevin and Michèle,” and the couple bursts out laughing. All families are treated like celebrities here.
