SUPER-AGENT Despite their recent breakup, Jorge Mendes insists that Cristiano Ronaldo will “always be in my heart.”

Mendes handled the majority of the 38-year-old Portuguese legend’s remarkable career.

Their friendship soured last summer, though, when he was unable to broker Ronaldo’s transfer from Manchester United to either Bayern Munich or Chelsea.

A transfer to a Premier League team or to a Bundesliga powerhouse never happened.

Instead, Ronaldo eventually left United following an interview with Piers Morgan and joined the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in January.

Mendes did not agree with her decision to appear on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

Soon after Ronaldo had negotiated his own arrangement to travel to the Middle East, it resulted in an official ʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ of the relationship.

However, given that Mendes broke his silence on the breakup, there does not seem to be any animosity between him and the forward.

How do I see this stage of his life, he questioned? I will always have Cristiano in my heart. For me, he is a unique player and unique as a person. If I had known a few years ago that I could get a player for half what Cristiano is worth, I might have agreed to a lower price!

We should all be happy to be Portuguese for having had and for having a player of his caliber. He was and still is the greatest player in the annals of world football, I’ve said it before and I’ll sᴀʏ it again and again! Even compared to others, I am completely confident.

You have to see what he was able to accomplish, Mendes continued. Goals are football! There is a lot of work and strength involved.

“He is the best of them all, and he has done all a great professional would have to do to set an example for young people. However, it is also true that he was a good player when he was younger. You mentioned Messi and Ronaldinho Gaucho, but Cristiano was also a good player in his youth.

The ꜰᴀᴄᴛ that Al-Nassr was denied the championship last week means that Ronaldo’s first season there has ended in bitter disappointment.
